What's Coming Up?
Our ministry of mobilization, encouragement and training will continue - will
you join us?! You may see where you or your church group could be a part
of it. We have many opportunities for groups of any size from your church.
We also have targeted times where individuals or couples could come and form a
mission team here.

September-November
The Hentzels are on a 12 week, 7072 mile fund raising trip in
the United States to (God willing) finish raising their monthly support.
Meanwhile, Dean and Karen Dawson are in Jamaica to welcome the Mulaa family from
Africa. They will be based at the Bethel camp for a few months while they
investigate the area. They have come to start a Community Health
Evangelism outreach here. They have a good track record in Kenya and
Ethiopia and we're looking forward to what God will do in Jamaica through their
ministry.
December
December is a busy time at Bethel! At the beginning of the
month, we will host a construction team to help with a local church building.
Then we will begin preparing for Boxing Day!
Boxing Day
Boxing Day is the day after Christmas and is usually spent at the beach or at a
party. We offer a Christian alternative for the local youth groups.
We need help with this event! Is there any way you could be at
Bethel the day after Christmas?! We will have 300 youth here at a fun and
casual event - swimming, soccer, cricket, basketball, and food. What could
be more fun?! We need help with crowd control, refereeing games, life
guarding at the pool and chatting with the youth. We will be doing
it all again a few days later for the younger children ages 6-12, and we will be
hosting two area orphanages here for a day of play at Jesus Birthday parties.
We have help for all days but the day after Christmas, but there is always room for more!
January-February
We have two medical teams coming to assist the local people with their medical
needs and to give them eternal hope. We also have a group coming to do
discipleship and training in the local churches. There are still opportunities for you!
See those listed below, or let us decide together how to use your skills. January and February
are REALLY nice months in Jamaica!!
Couples Only! February 13th - 20th
We have a week for couples (married or engaged) planned. You do not have to come
with your church group - just arrange to be on the island by February 13th. We will pick you up
in Montego Bay on February 13th and return you to Montego Bay on February 20th.
We'll handle everything in between! We will be studying God's
purpose for your marriage
through the resources of the
Sacred Marriage study.
We will spend mornings and evenings in large group and small group settings.
Afternoons you will join us in our ministries in the community. Ministry activities
will based on the skills of the team -
possibilities are school evangelism through testimonies/drama/music, orphanage
visits, construction, or many other activities. For more information on the conference
We have space for 11 married couples and 30 engaged couples.
Calling all MEN! February 20th-28th
Grab a group from your church and come down for men's week!
(Women can come too! They will do separate ministry activities.)
Ministry activities will be based on the skill of the group, but will include
construction and possibly discipleship and school evangelism. Men's week
will culminate with a Men's Conference featuring American and Jamaica pastors to
motivate and instruct the men present. Come worship and learn with your
Jamaican brothers!
March-May
Plan to join us this spring! It's a perfect time to do school evangelism.
We have two teams scheduled that will use music, drama, testimonies and teaching
to reach the 2500 high school students nearby. We can always use more!
Many other opportunities exist also - if you have a God given skill, we can use
it! Check out the Training Center page for possibilities on providing
training in the Training Center or construction on the Training Center!
Spring Break! College Age Trip! March 13th-20th
Grab a group from your church
or come alone and connect with other
Christian youth from across the U.S and Jamaica. You get yourself to
Montego Bay and we'll take it from there.
We will share in the schools during the daytime hours and focus on a Bible study
"How to Make Choices You Won't Regret" (by Kay Arthur) in the early mornings and evenings.
Where do you go for direction? What do you do when faced with temptation? How do
you decide what choices to make? This study answers those questions by exploring
the role of Scripture and the Holy Spirit in the process, as well as examining
the decision-making of people such as David, Josiah, Eve, and Jesus. As a
result, my friend, I pray you will be equipped to make choices that bring honor
to God and peace to your heart.

Summer
We have several teams scheduled for ministry this summer, and we love the excitement and energy of our summer teams.
We have some specific needs that you may be able to help with.
Trainers!
What do you know that you can impart to others? We are looking for those able to provide training in many areas.
While some may be end-user training, we would like to focus on "training the trainer" so that your skill can continue
to spread after you depart. Possible training includes:
Bible training, Vocational education, Reading classes, Life skills, Teacher Continuing Education...Contact
us if you can provide a training session to improve the lives of the Jamaican
people.
Youth Group to assist with Youth Leadership Camp July 17th-24th
Our Youth Leadership camp is a powerful week that
we know makes a big impact on the youth who attend. We ask the three area high
school principals to
send us their influencers - whether it is positive or negative influence they
provide. This gives us an opportunity to share the gospel and present a
biblical Servant Leadership model. Our goal is to turn their heart to God so they can
use their influence to shape their schools in a God honoring fashion. We encourage them to
accept Christ and follow His leadership! This is a powerful week as we
discuss factors affecting behavior and their consequences. Your youth will be forever
changed after this week of ministry!
AWANA Leaders and 10-16 year old Clubbers August 1st-7th
We are holding AWANA camp at Bethel for Jamaican and American
youth who have finished their age appropriate AWANA book during the previous school year.
An American leader can bring up to 3 youth and work with Jamaican leaders and youth during the week.
